Terms
Some of the terms as they are used by the application
Absolute color scale
- uses a fixed minimum and maximum value that has been predefined for each data product for the the left- and rightmost colors of the scale
Relative color scale
- uses the lowest and highest pixel value of the data product in the field at the selected period for the the left- and rightmost colors of the scale
Benchmark
- a standard against which a field's data product performance can be compared. The average data product value of all fields with the same crop in the same week is a common benchmark.
Data product
- a quality of a field that is calculated by a model, based on satellite data. For more information see this page
Field
- an area of land. It has one or more field geometries. It goes through one or more growing seasons.
Field notes
- rich text comments and pictures that can be added to a field
Field properties
- information about a field that can be freely changed
Field shape
- (= geometry) the shape of a field at some period in time. A field can have multiple geometries. A geometry consists of 1 or more polygons.
Growing season
- (= coverage) a period of time in which a certain crop grows on a field
Pixel
- a squared piece of a raster that represents an area of 10x10m or 20x20m
Raster
- an image of a field composed of pixels
